And the mothers should breast-feed their children for two complete years if the father wishes that the breastfeeding is to be completed; the father should bear their food and clothing with Justice, no soul is assigned except with what she can cope with, no mother shall be harmed on account of her child, nor a father on account of his child, upon the inheritor has the same duty; if they both decide for weaning after mutual consent and satisfaction there is no blame upon them, and if you decide to breast-feed your children by a foster-mother, there is no blame upon you if you are willingly paying them with Justice from what you have been provided. And you heed Lord Allah and know that indeed, Allah is Observant of whatever you are doing.
It is told in verse 31: 14 that the mother bears him in her womb suffering weakness upon weakness, his weaning takes two years. And in verse 46: 15 it is told that both the pregnancy and weaning together are for thirty months. If one reads together the three verses 2: 233; 31: 14 and 46: 15, it can be understood that the least pregnancy period can be considered as six months. And in such a case the child should be breastfed for two complete years. In the absence of the father, the duty lies upon his heirs who will be the guardian of the child. Impartial Lord doesn’t assign any soul what it can’t cope with, and also Impartial Lord doesn’t guide anyone either to Paradise or Hell. The Arabic Quran reading Fujjar who hide and reject Adhikr do not earn paradise here; so they will have hell in the Hereafter even though they are not earning it purposefully as explained in verse 2: 286. See explanation 2: 116 and 165.
